Off Track and Not Sure Why? Your Emotions Might Be Trying to Tell You Something

You thought the plan was working—until it wasn’t.
Have you ever had a feeling that maybe you’re way down a path you didn’t consciously choose? Maybe you were keeping the peace or taking care of others. Maybe life threw some curveballs. Or maybe you’ve just been checking boxes on a life list, and saying “yes” before you even pause to think if “yes” is really what you want.
It happens. Often. And not because you messed up—but because you’re human. And maybe because the path you started down just doesn’t suit you anymore. It’s okay to change your mind.
Here’s a thought: our bodies and emotions often know we’re off course before our minds catch on. The tension in your shoulders. An anxious stomach. The Sunday night dread. The random burst of envy when someone else makes a bold move.
Those are signs, messages from your inner voice quietly saying: Hey… what are we doing?
You don’t always need to know the five-year plan or map out every step. You don’t need all the answers, but taking the time to pause, check in, and ask if “this” is really what you want? This is your big beautiful life…are you doing, being, feeling true to yourself?
Here are a few questions I often ask my coaching clients (and myself!):
💡 What signals—emotional or physical—have I been ignoring?
💡 What have I been craving, but haven’t let myself name?
💡 If I trusted my inner voice today… what would I do?
Dramatic life changes are not always needed. Frequently, it’s starting small and tuning back in—one clear “yes” or “no” at a time. Finding a space that just feels more like you.
And if your inner voice has gone a bit quiet (or sounds like it’s buffering), coaching can help. Coaching is not someone telling you what to do—it’s having a thought partner to help you listen, reflect, and find your way forward.
